Clark County Privacy Notice

This notice describes what Clark County Busted Mugshots may collect when someone uses the service, why that information is used, and the limited circumstances in which it may be shared. It applies to this privately operated website, not to Clark County government records systems or outside websites reached through a link. By using the service, a visitor accepts the practices described here. Government record requests are governed separately by Washington law and the public office that holds the record.

Information You Submit

Search entries

A name, location, or similar term entered into a search tool is sent to the independent provider that operates that tool. Clark County Busted Mugshots does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider's own privacy terms apply to the query after it is submitted.

Messages to the service

If someone sends an email or a contact-form message, we may retain the name, contact details, and message contents needed to respond. We do not share messages outside our organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Technical Data and Cookies

Like most websites, the service and its providers may receive routine technical information when a browser loads a page. This helps operate, protect, and assess the service.

  • Internet protocol address.
  • Browser name and version.
  • Device type and operating system.
  • Pages viewed and the time spent on them.
  • Referring website, when one is available.
  • Date and time of the visit.

Cookie choices

Cookies and similar technologies may be used to understand site use and support features. A browser can be configured to block or remove cookies, although some functions may work differently after that choice.

How We Use Collected Data

Information is used to keep the service available, direct a search request to the relevant partner, understand which information is useful, identify technical problems, and support advertising that may be based on interests.

External Sites and Advertising

Links may lead to the Clark County Jail Roster, Jail Services, the Sheriff's Public Disclosure Unit, court portals, WA DOC, and independent search tools. Once a visitor follows a link, that destination's privacy policy controls its data handling. For government-held records, Washington's Public Records Act, including RCW 42.56.070, applies through the relevant public custodian rather than through this private website.

Advertising partners may measure activity across websites to deliver interest-based advertising on their own systems. We do not control those partners' practices.

Who May Receive Information

We do not sell personal data. Information may be processed or disclosed only to the categories below when needed for the stated purpose or when legally required.

  • Search partners that process submitted queries.
  • Analytics providers that measure site performance.
  • Advertising networks that deliver or measure ads.
  • Law enforcement or government authorities responding to a valid legal order.

Security Limits

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect information, but no internet-connected system can be guaranteed fully secure. Transmission and storage therefore carry a risk that cannot be eliminated completely.

Visitors Under 18

This service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor has submitted personal information, they may contact us to request deletion.

Your Information Choices

A person may ask to review personal information we hold, correct inaccurate information, request deletion, or opt out of certain processing where applicable. Requests can be sent through Contact Us; identity may need to be verified before a request is completed.

Changes to This Notice

We may revise this notice as the service changes or legal requirements develop. A revised version becomes effective when it is posted here with an updated effective date.
